How to Take a Screenshot on a Dell Computer with Snip tool

1. On your dell desktop, Laptop, or, Chromebook open a Snipping Tool.

To open a Snipping tool on your Dell Desktop: Click on Start > Windows Accessories > Snipping Tool.

2.  Now choose one of the modes to take a screenshot

  • Free Form Snip:  Choose this mode to take the free form screenshot around an object
  • Rectangular Snip: Choose this mode to take a rectangular  screenshot
  • Window Snip:  Select this mode to capture a window dialog box
  • Full-Screen Snip:  Select this mode to take a screenshot of the entire screen.’

3. Click on “New” to capture a screenshot on your computer

4. After capturing a screenshot, it is automatically copied to the snipping tool. press “ctrl+s” to save the screenshot.

 

How to take a Screenshot on a Dell Desktop or Laptop with keyboard keys

Without using a snipping tool and other third-party tools, you can easily take a screenshot with keyboard shortcut keys.

Windows + PrtScr

  1. On your Dell desktop, press the Windows logo key + PrtScr key at the same time to take an entire screen snapshot.
  2.  The images are automatically saved on your Dell Desktop at the location Picture > Screenshots.

Windows Key + Shift+ S

  1. Press Windows key + Shift + S keyboard keys at the same time
  2. Select the portion of the screen to a screenshot
  3. Open the screenshot and save it on your desktop/laptop.
