How to use Airdrop
Airdrop allows you to share photos, videos, and documents instantly with nearby Apple iOS devices. If you are having 2 or more Apple devices like Mac, iPhone, or iPad you can instantly send and receive from Apple Devices wirelessly.
Airdrop uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to establish a peer-to-peer connection between devices, enabling secure and fast file transfers. It’s a convenient feature for Apple users to share content seamlessly without the need for cables or internet connectivity.
Why do you want to use Airdrop?
- It allows you to share or receive photos, videos or files wirelessly very quickly with Apple devices using Bluetooth or WIFI.
- No third-party sharing Apps are required
- Airdrop can be discoverable by everyone or only contacts as per your requirements.
- Share map locations, websites to a nearby Mac and other Apple devices.
Before you use Airdrop, make sure you meet the following requirements
- Both sender and receiver must enable the WIFI and Bluetooth connection.
- The sender and receiver must be within the WIFI range or Bluetooth.
- If the set Airdrop settings as “Contacts” only, then your mobile number or email address must be in their contact card to work
- Without adding contact details, you can set Airdrop settings as “Everyone” and then you can easily send or receive the files from nearby devices.
How to Use Airdrop on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Step 1: On your iPhone, choose a photo, video, or document that you want to share.
- To share a single image, tap on hold or
- To share multiple images and videos, on the right upper corner of the screen tap on select and then swipe left or right to select multiple photos
Step 2: Tap on the Share icon
Step 3: Now tap on the “Airdrop” icon
Step 4: Under Airdrop, it displays a list of devices. Tap on the device that you want to share the
Now successfully the mages are shared to the Apple device through Airdrop.

How to Use Airdrop on Mac
Instantly transfer files or images from your Apple Mac computer to another Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Refer to the below step-by-step procedure on how to use Airdrop on Mac and send and receive images through Airdrop.
Note: Ask the receiver to Turn on Airdrop to receive the Images or Videos.
Step 1: On your Mac computer, select the file, Photos, or Videos that you want to send.
Step 2: Control + Click on the selected file > and then choose the “Share” option from the menu
Step 3: Choose the “Airdrop” option from the shortcut to the menu
Step 4: It displays a list of devices from the Airdrop. Select the recipient to share the file.
Now the file has been successfully sent to the recipient iOS device.
